Description:

• Lantana is a perennial ornamental shrub that is cultivated in public and private gardens and locally known as "Lantana اللانتانا"
• The whole plant especially the unripe berries are toxic. Toxicity of children with Lantana berries is common because of its attractive color and shape.

Signs of toxicity include:

• Acute cases photosensitization, jaundice, constipation
• Sluggishness, weakening and bloody diarrhea.
• In chronic cases, weight loss, infected lesions in mouth and nostrils, ulceration in cheeks and gums and swelling in mucous membranes have been observed.
