• Colocynth or wild gourd is a wild trailing perennial herb that grows in valleys and sandy plains that receive good watering and is known locally as "Al-Handhal الحنظل"
• Fruits are the most toxic part is the  especially the unripe ones, but other plant parts are also toxic.

Signs of toxicity include:

• Vomiting drastic bloody diarrhea, gastrointestinal tract inflammations
• Increased urine output
• Delirium and weak pulse.
