- Solanum nigrum or black deadly nightshade is an annual herb that grows in summer near water around human and livestock habitations and locally known as "Shirengeban شرنجبان"
- The unripe green berries are the most toxic part is the , although, the whole plant is toxic.
Signs of toxicity include:
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and severe irritation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
- In severe cases there may be headache, rapid heart rate, feeling thirsty, lack of coordination, drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, cold clammy skin, fever and difficulty breathing.
